Abstract
This study aimed at determining the relationship between future anxiety and the motivation for learning in a sample of mu'tah university students during the 2nd term for the academic year 2013/2014. The study sample consisted of 582 female and male students. The scale was distributed over four classes of "principles of Psychology course" purposouly. This course consists of all majors, years and gender in the university. After reviewing the previous literature, the researcher applied instruments, the first was related to the future anxiety scale (FAS) with a stability degree of 0.75 and a tool for learning motivation with a stability degree of 0.78. The results indicated a statistically significant negative relationship between future anxiety and the motivation for learning by Mu'tah university students by -0.389. The results also indicated statistically significant differences attributed to gender and in the favor of male students, the specialization was to the favor of scientific colleges. The results indicated no statically significant differences in the academic year level, while there were no statistically significant differences in motivation for learning attributed to the gender, while the differences in specialization were to the favor of scientific colleges. The study presented some recommendations.
