resistance of wheat and barley to the cereal leafminer
The cereal leafminer, Syringopais temperatella Led. (Lepidoptera: ScySavethrididae) is considered one of the major insect pests of wheat and barely. Development of resistant varieties of wheat and barley crops is of great importance for farmers, since these crops with a relatively low financial return, and therefore, control method of high cost is considered undesirable for farmers in Jordan. The use of such resistant varieties is environmentally safe, effective and durable. However, the results of the present study indicated that the averages of the investigated parameters (infestation percentage, grain yield, straw dry mass and larval population size) showed statistically significant differences among accessions.
