Abstract :

The Exponential Function Method was originally proposed to seek solitonary solutions, periodic solutions, and compact-like solutions for nonlinear wave equations. In this paper, the Exponential Function Method is applied to find new exact solitonary and periodic solutions for nonlinear partial differential equations. The Φ4 - equation, Sine-Gordon equation, and an equation arises in fluid mechanics, are chosen to illustrate the effectiveness, and convenience of the method. The solutions obtained by the Exponential Function Method are compared to those obtained by the Hyperbola function method.
