The Impact of Political Tensions in Strategic Straits on the Global Economy is a research study authored by Malek Khalef Albuzirat. The study investigates the economic consequences of political tensions and geopolitical conflicts in major strategic maritime chokepoints, with particular emphasis on the Strait of Hormuz, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and the Suez Canal. Using a descriptive–analytical methodology based on peer-reviewed literature, international reports, and documented geopolitical events, the research examines the implications of maritime instability for international trade, energy security, transportation systems, and global economic resilience. The findings indicate that disruptions in strategic waterways lead to higher transportation and insurance costs, increased energy price volatility, supply chain interruptions, and reduced trade efficiency, with localized geopolitical crises generating far-reaching effects across interconnected global markets. The study concludes that strengthening maritime security, enhancing international cooperation, and diversifying transportation and energy routes are essential strategies for safeguarding global economic stability and ensuring the uninterrupted flow of international trade and energy supplies.
