The aim of this study is to investigate  Mutah University students' attitudes towards psychological illness in light of some of the demographic variables. The sample consisted of (588) students (216) male and (372) female.To achieve the purpose of the study, an attitude scale measure students' attitudes  towards mental illness was prepared, consisted of (15) items of four levels according to the Likert Quad scale and its  validity and reliability  were ensure The results of the study indicated a fairly large negative attitudes toward mental illness, and statistically significant differences at (α = 0.05) towards psychological illness attributed to gender in favor of females. The results also showed no statistically significant difference at (α = 0.05 ) in average grades student groups on a scale trend towards psychological illness due to specialization of the student. In light of the results of the study, the researcher recommended conducting seminars and conferences at the University to eliminate misconceptions about Psychological illness, and activate different media and outreach programs for working to develop positive attitudes towards the psychological patient .
