ABSTRACT

The study aimed to identify the relationship between  anxious (pathological) attachment and the flexibility of the ego in a sample of elderly in Karak  governerate. The study sample consisted of 129 married individuals between 50-79 years selected intentionally. After applying a measure of anxious attachment and a measure of ego flexibility on the members of the study sample, it was found that the scores of sample members on a scale of ego  flexibility were  moderate, as evidenced by the results that the level of  anxious attachment was moderate, while the results showed a negative statistically significant relationship between anxious attachment to sons and flexibility ego of the elderly . Finally, the study proposed a set of recommendations.
