Barriers to Educational Researches and Studies in Jordan and Arab Countries as Perceived by Experts

ABSTRACT:
This study aims at identifying barriers to educational research in Jordan and Arab countries (with the same conditions of Jordan), as perceived by national and international experts.
To achieve the aims of the study, a self-completed questionnaire consisting of 48 items was developed with five domains were considered: data and information-related, Human Resources-related, institutional and policy-related, fund and financial-related, and findings dissemination and utilization). The questionnaire was administered to a sample of (140) national and international experts. The results revealed that the most common barriers were related to the following three domains, and the sub-barriers within these domains; policies and institutionalization of educational research and studies, dissemination and utilization of research outputs, and barriers pertaining to funding the educational research and studies, these domains scored the highest means, respectively (4.09, 3.99, 3.96).
The study concludes with several recommendations.

المعيقات التي تواجه البحوث والدراسات التربوية في الأردن والدول العربية

ملخص الدراسة: هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى الكشف عن التحديات التي تواجه البحوث والدراسات التربوية في الأردن وبعض الدول العربية (التي تتماثل مع الأردن في ظروفها الاقتصادية وبيئتها). ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة تم تطوير استبانة تشكلت من (48) فقرة توزعت على خمسة مجالات من المعيقات التي يمكن أن تواجه البحوث والدراسات التربوية، وهي: مجال المعيقات المتعلقة بالبيانات والمعلومات التربوية، المعيقات المتعلقة بالموارد البشرية، المعيقات المتعلقة بالمؤسسية والسياسات، المعيقات المتعلقة بالتمويل والانفاق على البحوث والدراسات، وأخيرا المعيقات المتعلقة بنشر الدراسات والبحوث والافادة من نتائجها. تم تطبيق الاستبانة على عينة من (140) خبيراً وطنيا ودولياً. كشفت نتائج الدراسة عن ان أكثر ثلاثة مجالات تشتمل معيقات تواجه البحوث والدراسات التربوية قد تمثلت في الآتي: المعيقات المتعلقة بالسياسات والمؤسسية، والمعيقات المتعلقة بنشر الدراسات والبحوث وتوزيع نتائجها، وأخيرا المعيقات المتعلقة بالتمويل والانفاق على البحوث والدراسات، وبواقع متوسطات حسابية بلغت على التوالي: (4.09، 3.99، 3.96). وفي ضوء نتائج الدراسة تم اقتراح بعض التوصيات.
