This study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of the English language teachers’ certification program at Mutah University . To achieve aims of the study a questionnaire of 18 items has been designed. The sample of the study comprised 45 students who are expected to be graduated by the summer semester 2000-2001, whom their experience in the Ministry of between 6-9 years. Education
The results of the study revealed that the program has many deficits inplanning and implementing and the insufficiency of following up with the new developments of the curricula , as well as , the gap between theory and practice. Even though , the results of the study showed that the program has met some of the learner’s cognitive needs , as well as, it distinguished them compared to their colleagues. Finally, the researcher addressed some recommendations and suggestions.
