Abstract

This study aimed at exploring  the extent to which the school teachers of  Al-Tafilah district, are practicing the effective teaching strategies from the perspective of the educational supervisors and the school headmasters. The study sample formed about 90% of the entire population, with a total of (125) educational supervisors and school heads. A survey questionnaire was developed, consisting of (48) items about effective teaching strategies, the instrument validity and reliability was verified by a panel of jury and the test and re-test mechanisms.

The study major findings are the following:

Firstly, findings indicated that the effective teaching strategies that received the highest rankings were  inherent in the domains of; display methods, interactive methods, and practical and discovery methods.

Secondly, findings indicated that practicing the effective teaching strategies was average with the mean of (3.55) level; (15) items were highly practiced, whereas, (33) items were medium practiced.

Thirdly, findings indicated that there were no statistical differences that can be attributed to any of the study's variables; (position, experience, gender, and qualification).

Finally, findings do not show any statistical interaction between the study's variables.

The study concluded  with number  of  recommendations.
